Libby rolls by Loyola, tips Mission

LIBBY — Abby Ennenga doubled and homered and Sammee Bradeen also homered as top-seed Libby rolled to an easy 16-6 victory over Loyola on Friday at the Western B-C Divisional softball tournament.
Bradeen had three of Libby’s 11 hits.
Haylee Cannon, 2 for 4, doubled for the Loggers.
Leadoff batter Madison Monigold also went 2 for 4.
Ennenga finished with three RBIs along with Khalyn Hageness.
Loyola pitcher Kayla Hickethier, 3 for 3, homered and drove in two runs.
Libby scored in every inning, pushing four runners across the plate in the second, third and fourth.
The next outing wasn’t as easy with Libby emerging with a tight 3-2 victory over Mission.
Monigold, Ennenga and Emily Carvey proved the bulk of the offense, all going 2 for 3. Ennenga belted two doubles and Monigold had one.
Loyola managed to bounce back to whip Eureka 20-1.
Tournament play ends today. The top four teams advance to state play next week at Frenchtown.

HELENA — Terra Gilchrist pitched a perfect game in the opener, striking out 10 batters, and Helena used a nine-run third inning to romp in the second game to win the best of three series in Western AA play.
Helena advances to state tournament action in Great Falls next week.
Flathead had just three hits in the second game, singles by Kaycee Smith, Bailey Nunn and Kate Smith.

MISSOULA — Missoula Big Sky started fast in both games to upend Glacier in a best of three series in Western AA play.
Big Sky advances to state tournament play next week in Great Falls.
Big Sky led 7-1 after three innings in the first game and 9-1 after two in the second.
Big Sky outhit Glacier 29-8.
Kali Gulick, Anna Schrade and Alivia Atlee homered for Glacier in the first game. Addie Labrum, 2 for 3, accounted for the Wolfpack’s other hits in that contest, doubling once.
Atlee, Gulick and Maddie Johnson singled for Glacier in the finale.
Glacier finished second at state last year.
