Kalispell to discuss growth policy

Kalispell City Council will meet Monday to discuss an updated draft of the city’s growth policy.

The planning document was created with the purpose of guiding growth in Kalispell by setting guidelines for housing, land use, business and industry and other areas of economic development.

Council began the process of updating the current 2020 growth policy in 2012. Since that time, staff has attended more than 40 community meetings and held several work sessions to amend and update the policy that was adopted in 2003.

If adopted, Plan It 2035 will replace the 2020 growth policy.

The public will have the option to comment on the growth policy during the meeting.

Council will meet at Kalispell City Hall Monday, May 22, at 7 p.m.
