Mary Alice Henderson, 80
Mary Alice Henderson, 80, passed away on May 20, 2017, in Kalispell.
She was born on Aug. 17, 1936, in Mabton, Washington. She graduated from Mabton High School on May 25, 1954. After high school she went on to graduate from the State College of Washington, now called Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, on June 1, 1958, where she received her Bachelors of Arts degree in secretarial studies. During her time at college, she was very active in the sorority.
Mary Alice started her career at the Washington State Department of Agriculture in Yakima, Washington, and that’s where she met the love of her life C.V. Henderson. She followed C.V. to Alaska and they married on April 2, 1965, in Wrangell, Alaska. While living there, she started working for the Forest Service. She was later transferred to Creede, Colorado, and then finally to Bigfork.
Mary Alice enjoyed playing golf and was very involved in the Women’s Bowling League in Bigfork for many years.
She was preceded in death by her husband C.V. Henderson who passed away in October of 1982, parents Edward and Osceola Brewer, and her sister Jean Hill.
Mary Alice is survived by her four nieces, Linda (Mike) Farmer of Sunnyside, Washington, Carol Splawn of Yakima, Mary Lynn (Ray) Miller of Bruneau, Idaho, and Johanna (Ed) Montgomery of Ravensdale, Washington.
A public viewing will be held from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, May 26, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, May 27, at the Little Brown Church, with burial to follow at Lone Pine Cemetery.
