'Big Night Art Auction' to benefit FVCC
The Flathead Valley Community College art department will host the “Big Night Art Auction” June 9, a culinary event to benefit student scholarships for the Semester in Venice program and art studies.
Guests will enjoy an Italian-inspired feast created by students of The Culinary Institute of Montana at FVCC. The buffet-style dinner will include grilled giant halibut stuffed with peppers, onions and herbs; wild boar ragu with polenta; crispy porcini mushroom ravioli with chanterelles and tri-color Caesar salad; veal saltimbocca with fregola, fava bean and artichoke salad; and grilled flat iron steak with caramelized onions and wild rice. Dessert will be tiramisu and cappuccino truffles. A no-host bar with specially selected Italian wines will be available.
In honor of FVCC’s 50th anniversary this year, “Big Night” will feature a first-ever auction of more than 50 works of art created by FVCC faculty, students, alumni and community artists. Each piece is on display at the Hockaday Museum of Art until June 3, with early bids accepted at the museum.
“I am proud to be a part of this college,” David Regan, chair of FVCC’s art department, said. “So many people got their start in their art professions here. It is a pleasure to see them come back and celebrate the 50th. I am so grateful to those artists who have donated their wonderful artwork for this event.”
The “Big Night Art Auction” will begin at 6 p.m. in the Arts and Technology Building on campus. Tickets are $75 per person and can be purchased online at www.fvcc.edu/big-night or by calling 406-756-3632.
