David Lee Cochrane, 58

| May 31, 2017 5:55 PM

Columbia Falls lost one of their beloved residents on May 26, 2017. Born in Harrison Township, Michigan, on March 20, 1959, David Lee Cochrane passed peacefully at home surrounded by his devoted family and close friends. Dave fought a courageous battle with mantle cell lymphoma for 13 years.

He was loved more than words can express, and never failed to make others smile with his pranks and witty jokes. He loved fishing, hunting, hiking and playing cards. He was a devoted Conservative and stood up for his beliefs and what he felt was right, staying in close contact with political officials at all times via phone and letters. Dave was an avid baker; holidays and family gatherings will never be the same without his sweet confections and warm presence.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Donald and Jean Cochrane.

He is survived by five siblings, Carol, Donna, Steve, Howard and Donnie.

David graduated from Clovis High School in 1977, immediately joining the Air Force, followed by the Air National Guard. He met the love of his life and was married in 1986 to Geri. He was unconditionally loved by her for 31 years and she never left his side during his battle with cancer. Together they raised two beautiful children in the Flathead Valley where he planted his roots and called it home, working at Plum Creek.

David is cherished by his son Jason of Mountain Home, Idaho, and daughter Jena of Columbia Falls, and his beloved dog, Koko. His life revolved around his family and friends; he loved playing with his grandchildren, Isaac, Hunter and Raelyn and he treasured his many nieces and nephews. We will all miss our Mr. P, and we will be forever grateful for the example he left us.

David’s celebration of life will be held at 4 p.m. on Sunday, June 4, at the Fellowship Alliance Church in Columbia Falls. David was given excellent care by Kalispell Regional Healthcare Hospice, and Columbia Falls Mortuary is caring for the family.
