Alice Wendt, 87

Alice Wendt, of Kalispell, 87, passed away peacefully at the adult care home where she resided for the last six months on Oct. 27, 2017. Alice was born to John and Edna Isom on March 15, 1930, in Tacoma, Washington, and moved to Kalispell as a teenager. Alice graduated from Flathead County High School in 1949.

On March 26, 1950, Bud and Alice wed and together had four children, and remained married for almost 65 years, until Bud passed in 2015.

Alice was homemaker for many years then went on to do housekeeping at a local Flathead hotel and finished her working career at Fair-Mont-Egan School as an aide.

Alice loved to garden, bake and go camping. Many summer weekends were spent camping, fishing, playing cards and sharing good times with her family, friends and their families throughout Northwest Montana. Alice was also an avid card player and enjoyed the monthly pinochle parties with many of her and Bud’s friends.

Alice was preceded in death by stepfather Andy Anderson, and mother Edna Anderson; and is survived by son E. Wayne and his wife Judy, children Sid and Judith; son Michael and his wife Julie, children Cassandra and Ashlie; daughter Cheryl Wood and husband Jim, children Josh and Autumn; daughter Connie DeCunzo and husband Jason, children Tessa and Isabella; and numerous great-grandchildren.

Graveside services for immediate family members will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 2, at the Glacier Memorial Gardens Cemetery, followed by an open house celebration of Alice’s life from 1 to 3 p.m. at Joe and Lucille Kaufman’s home, 656 Conrad Lane, Kalispell.
