It’s the most artistic time of the year for Flathead Valley Community College as art students of all mediums prepare for the end-of-semester art show and annual Holiday Art Sale.

The art show, scheduled for today, Nov. 29, will feature around 150 pieces created and selected by every student in each of the college’s art classes.

Artist and Flathead High School teacher Sara Nelson will jury the show, comprising drawings, paintings, ceramics, photography and jewelry in the gallery on the lower level of the Arts and Technology building on the FVCC campus.

Students with exceptional 2-D and 3-D pieces will receive awards for their work, but items on display will not be sold at the show.

The show will remain on display in the gallery until Dec. 15.

Shoppers will have the opportunity to purchase different unique art pieces created by FVCC’s Art Club students at the annual Holiday Art Sale Dec. 4-6.

Items will range from ceramics to jewelry and more, and will cover price points from under $10 to a few hundred dollars.

Each artist prices their own pieces based on their perceived value of the item they’ve created, according to assistant professor of ceramics David Regan.

The sale will take place from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. from Dec. 4-6.

Proceeds from the sale benefit the activities of the club and support the artists.
