Terry Lynn Gorton Guerrero, 75

Terry Guerrero was born May 12, 1942, in Kalispell to James and Mary Gorton of Creston.

She passed away on Sept. 14, 2017. A graduate of Flathead County High School in 1960, she attended Crest Elementary and Eastern Washington University. In 1961, Terry moved to Portland where she worked for U-Haul headquarters. Soon after, her lifelong best friend and sister, Kate Heggan, joined Terry. The sophisticated duo shared a small apartment and lived on wine, cheese and crackers. The two then moved to Seattle where Terry worked for Boeing.

In 1963, Terry moved to Los Angeles where she met and married Thomas Guerrero. Blessed with three boys, Tom and Terry were very proud and loved them very much. In 1972, Terry, Tom and the boys moved to her hometown of Kalispell, where she worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 30 years.

After retiring from the Post Office in 2005, Terry took up gardening and quilting. She had a green thumb and an eye for fabric If you received a quilt from Terry, you are damn lucky. Terry was known for her kind soul, generous heart, sense of humor and love of all animals, especially little yapper dogs.

Her parents, Jim and Mary Gorton, aunt, Betty Holmes, and granddaughter, Piper, preceded Terry in death.

Her sister, Kate Heggan and her husband Jerry, brothers Bill wife Jana, and Tom, wife Noel; sons, Kevin, wife Heather, Vincent, D.J., wife Jessica, grandchildren, Hannah and Holly Guerrero, Kiah Brauer, Skiler and Zoie Guerrero, great-grandson, Keean Brauer and Jessica Guerrero’s children Nicholas and Emily Brooks and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews survive her.

Graveside services will be at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery with Jaime Woods officiating.
