Ira Weaver, 91

Ira Weaver passed away in Plains on Monday, Oct. 2, 2017.

He was born in Linden, Idaho, on May 8, 1926. His family later built a homestead in Proctor, in the Flathead Valley, where he went to school and spent a good part of his life until moving to Kalispell. Ira was a World War II veteran. When he returned to the Flathead he worked in the logging, and radio and appliance repair industries, then in the U.S. Forest Service as the electronics technician for the

Flathead National Forest. When he retired from the Forest Service he went into business for himself as a master electrician under Weaver Electric.

Ira moved to Thompson Falls around 2005 where he resided until his passing. He was especially known for his sense of humor and his stories he would relate about his life, he was known and admired by many.

He was preceded in death by his wife Ruth and later Dorothy, his sons Bob and Cory, and a daughter Judy.

He is survived by his children, Kathleen, Samuel, Nicholas, Vivian, Steve and Rhonda; many wonderful grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Ira was past master of the Masons, Kalispell Lodge 42. The Masonic rites will be performed at the service.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 7, at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, 525 Main Street, Kalispell, with a reception to follow at the Masonic Lodge, 241 South Main Street, Kalispell.

Donations will be collected and set aside for a memorial bench on the Thompson Falls walking trail along the river. Ike loved taking his scooter along this trail.
