Book club meets today

The History Book Club will meet at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 12, at the Museum at Central School. The public is invited.

The group will be discussing “Last Bus to Wisdom” by Ivan Doig. This is Doig’s final book before his death in 2015. The book tells the fictional story of an 11-year-old boy in 1951, who is sent from Montana to Wisconsin to live with an aunt. This arrangement does not end well and the book recounts his misadventures on the long bus trip back to Montana. The book is funny and heartwarming and shows Doig’s writing at its best.
