Allan Jerome Wroblewski, 76, formerly of Bessemer, Michigan passed away at his home with family by his side in Kalispell on Oct. 13, 2017.
Born on April 1, 1941, in Bessemer, Michigan, to the late Andrew and Margaret (Hamel) Wroblewski, Al graduated from A. D Johnston High School and attended Gogebic Community College.
His love of travel and adventure started with his first job as a traveling salesman. The majority of his working career was at White Pine Copper Mine, Ison John Deere and Bessemer Plywood Corporation. Al retired to Kalispell, where he spent his final years building his dream home, “just a tar paper shack,” in the mountains of Montana.
Al was active in the communities in which he lived, including member and former president of Bessemer Lions Club, member of Marty’s Goldenaires Drum and Bugle Corp and member of Kalispell Sunriser Lions Club. He was a board member and past president of the Ashley Lake Property Owners’ Association.
Al was a skilled carpenter, an avid hunter and always enjoyed a new adventure. He traveled extensively throughout the U.S. and the world, with one of his most treasured trips being a 2016 visit to Poland, his father’s homeland, which had been a life-long dream. However, his favorite place to be was home, in the role of grill-master, entertaining a house filled with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, Al was preceded in death by his son Jacob Sutton, brother James Wroblewski and sister Carol (Wroblewski) Qualey. He is survived by his wife, Constance Thomason Wroblewski, who feels blessed and honored to have shared life’s adventures with him. He is also survived by his children Christopher (Tammy) Wroblewski, Jill Wroblewski, Kristen (Charles) Kariainen, Marjorie (Carl) Sutton Gustafson and Jason (Christy) Sutton; his siblings Joseph (Marilyn) Wroblewski, John David (Doris) Wroblewski, Mary Jean Wroblewski and Rita (David) Johnson; and his grandchildren Andrew (Hannah), Alec and Alyssa Wroblewski; Adeline and Braden Kariainen; Sienna, Jacob and James Gustafson; Elisha, Aiden and Olivia Sutton.
Al was a welcoming host who created a backdrop for memories across generations. He had a gift for making each person he met feel special and unique. His smile and generous spirit will be missed by all.
Al’s life will be celebrated with a service at 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 20 at the Hampton Inn in Kalispell. There will also be a service in Bessemer, Michigan.
