A request by the Firebrand Lounge for a full liquor license at the downtown Whitefish hotel will be considered during a public hearing Thursday, Oct. 19, before the Whitefish Planning Board.

The hotel currently operates a restaurant and lounge with a beer and wine license, and is asking for a conditional-use permit to operate an all-beverage license in the restaurant and lounge. The Firebrand is located at the southeast corner of East Second Street and Spokane Avenue, across the street from Whitefish Middle School.

The Whitefish Planning Office is recommending approval of the permit, subject to several conditions, including a stipulation that no bar can be located on the hotel’s rooftop patio.

The Planning Board has three other public hearings on its agenda.

Falling Leaf LLC is asking to amend the Great Northern Heights Phase 3A planned-unit development to increase the townhouse lot coverage from 35 to 50 percent. The properties are located on Great Northern and Brimstone drives.

Robert and Crystal Black are asking for a conditional-use permit to expand a non-conforming residential structure in a commercial zone, at 702 Greenwood Ave.

The city of Whitefish wants to rezone a parcel at 453 Armory Road that is being annexed from county suburban agricultural zoning to Whitefish country residential zoning.

The meeting begins at 6 p.m. at City Hall, 418 E. Second St.
