Clark L. Spain, 87

| October 24, 2017 6:20 PM

Clark L. Spain “is with his Savior” as of Oct. 22, 2017.

He was born to Clarkson and Marian Spain of Bozeman on Aug. 16, 1930. Clark attended schools in Belgrade and Bozeman and later farmed and ranched in the same areas.

Clark married Shirlee Mecklenburg in 1951 and they soon had four children. The family moved away from his beloved Gallatin County Valley to pursue a career in the Federal Land Bank in the Missoula area in the mid ‘60s. In the early ‘70s he was transferred to Kalispell where he continued to travel and appraise farms and ranches all over western Montana. Eventually Clark transitioned to residential and commercial real estate and owned and operated Valley Realty of Kalispell. His next opportunity to care for land was caretaking of the C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery — a job he loved.

Work defined Clark because he loved and lived to be busy and make things look good. He loved people and animals. He enjoyed teasing his friends and family and often had a twinkle in his eye due to some of his efforts in that department.

Clark is survived by three daughters, Janet, Karen and Trude’; daughter-in-law Debbie; 10 grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.

Many thanks and fond blessings to the staff and friends at Edgewood Vista that loved and cared for Clark this past year.

Services for Clark will be at 2 p.m. on Friday, Oct. 27, at Central Bible Church in Kalispell. A private urn burial will take place at C.E. Conrad Memorial Cemetery.

Memorials in Clark’s name can be given to the Humane Society, Home Options Hospice or charity of your choice.
