Terry Sherburne, 70

Terry Sherburne passed away Oct. 7, 2017.

Terry was born in Cut Bank on June 5, 1947. He graduated from Gonzaga Preparatory School in Spokane, and went on to get a degree in foreign language (French and Spanish) from Eastern Washington University.

Terry taught French and Spanish at Browning High School and managed the Mountain Pine Motel in East Glacier Park, Montana,

with his mother Doris Sherburne.

Terry was a true Montana outdoorsman. He loved to fish, backcountry ski, hike, hunt, and operate his ham radio. He was a prominent member of the town of East Glacier and served on the East Glacier Park Fire Department for 45 years. He also was the unofficial mayor of East Glacier.

He was preceded in death by his father Fred Sherburne, and his brother Scott Sherburne.

Terry is survived by his immediate family, his mother Doris Sherburne; his brothers, Jon Sherburne and Steven Sherburne; his sisters-in-law, Julie Sherburne and Linda Sherburne; his cousin, Elaine Elliot; his nieces, Jessie Sherburne, Lauren Kiedrowski, Lindsey Little and Mackenzie Sherburne; and his nephews, Cole Sherburne, Fred Sherburne and Ryan Sherburne. Terry has numerous extended family and many friends around the world.

Terry’s memorial is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4, at East Glacier Park Grade School in East Glacier Park.
