Tractor fire blamed on old family feud
A tractor reportedly caught fire in a field off Highway 82, according the Flathead County Sheriff’s Office dispatch logs. The blaze burned a patch of grass about 300 feet from a home. Fire crews, including four Department of Natural Resources and Conservation engines, were dispatched and quickly stomped out the fire. The tractor owner believed a neighbor may have been responsible for the fire, referencing “an old family feud.”
A driver on Reserve was allegedly seen throwing a cigarette out the window of a black SUV. Officers attempted to make contact with the alleged litter bug.
A driver reportedly slammed on the brakes twice, then pulled over when a woman jumped out of the vehicle and ran across traffic. Deputies discovered it was a mother-daughter dispute over a financial situation.
A woman reported a golf ball-sized dent in her car. She suspected a neighbor was responsible for the errant shot.
A man told deputies that he had not been able to access three of his email accounts for some time. He wasn’t willing to provide much information, only telling deputies that the potential suspect keeping his email accounts locked up was “someone very well known.” The man was advised to change his passwords.
Report of a couple arguing in the lobby of the Sheriff’s Office. The woman claimed her boyfriend took her money and wouldn’t return it. The man was cited for possession of marijuana, while the woman became belligerent with deputies after learning the dispute was a civil matter.
Report of a skinny dog wandering around a trailer court. The dog owner’s grandmother said the dog was skinny because it’s “very hyperactive.” She agreed to talk with a vet about the dog’s weight issue.
A caller in Kalispell was concerned about his neighbor stacking up hay next to his property. He believed it was a fire danger.
Three men in a boat were unable to row back to shore when the motor died. They were towed to shore by another boat.
A caller reported an alleged gang member who kept showing up at an apartment complex in Bigfork. The man apparently got upset after he was told to put a shirt on.
