| September 27, 2017 6:48 PM

Theodore Henry Seibel, 91, passed away Sept. 25, 2017, at the Brendan House in Kalispell, with his loving daughter by his side.

Ted was born in Elgin, North Dakota, on March 7, 1926, to William and Lydia (Heim) Seibel, a farming family. When Elgin was hard hit by the drought of the 1930s, the family moved to Red Lake Falls, Minnesota, and resumed their farming tradition.

Ted worked alongside his father and later contributed to the World War II effort by working on Omaha, Nebraska, at a B-29 factory.

Ted married Delores Fournier on May 16, 1952, and then began working on road construction in Montana and North Dakota. Son Darrell was born on Aug. 7, 1953. After moving to Chinook, Montana, in July of 1956, daughter Kathy was born on Oct. 29, 1956.

Ted continued trucking until he was injured in an accident in 1959. He was disabled by the accident and the family continued living in Chinook.

After surgery for esophageal cancer on March 9, 2011, Ted became a resident of the Brendan House.

Ted enjoyed hunting, fishing and listening to country music. Ted was a lifelong Lutheran and his deep and abiding faith helped him through many trying times.

Ted is survived by his wife of 65 years, Delores; and his daughter Kathy Roth, and his son-in-law, Terry Roth.

Ted was preceded in death by his son Darrell, his parents, brothers Ervin, Johnny and Art; and sisters, Irene and Dorothy.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sept. 29 at Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home, and graveside services will follow at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Cemetery at Whitefish Stage and Rose Crossing.
