Pistorese begins pro baseball season with AA Arkansas Travelers

Pitcher Joe Pistorese will begin the 2018 professional baseball season as a member of the Seattle Mariners’ AA affiliate Arkansas Travelers.

This will be the former Kalispell Laker standout’s first exposure to AA ball.

The Travelers open the season with a three-game home series versus the San Antonio Missions starting tonight.

The Travelers have 13 pitchers on their 25-man roster.

Pistorese, a 6-foot-2, 175-pound left-hander, was with Class A Modesto, California, last year.

The Nuts won the California League championship.

He was drafted in the 17th round in 2015 by the Mariners after a stellar career at Washington State University.

He has pitched for five minor league teams. His career stats — 9-4 record, 2.60 ERA, 121 innings pitched, 146 strikeouts and 31 walks.
