| April 11, 2018 2:00 AM

Rusty Atchinson, 57, of Whitefish, passed away April 8, 2018.

Rusty was born in Shelton, Washington on May 28, 1960, to Russell and Maxine Atchinson. He finished school at Tumwater High School in Tumwater, Washington.

Rusty worked hard and spent 25 years building his own company RGA Construction. He was currently working at Western Building Center in Whitefish.

In 2006-2007 his homes were awarded the “Best Curb Appeal” in Parade of Homes. When he wasn’t working he loved to be outside hiking or tending to his yard. He considered the outdoors his “happy place” and he always felt at peace when he was outdoors.

Rusty is survived by his wife of 28 years, Denise Atchinson; sons Ryan Atchinson and Brian Bostwick; and daughters Christina Hull, Mindy Atchinson and Wendy Vick. Rusty also loved his 15+ grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.

Rusty was greatly loved and will be missed. He would want everyone to know that life is too short to take any moment for granted.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to gofundme.com/rusty-atchinson or made directly to Denise Atchinson.

A celebration of Rusty’s well-lived life will be held from noon to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 14, at the family’s home (“Happy Valley”) 4870 Hwy 93 S. #58, Whitefish.
