Harbor Freight opens in North Kalispell

Aisles of discount tools are now available for perusing with the recent opening of Harbor Freight Tools in the Spring Prairie commercial complex in North Kalispell.

The new store sits between HomeGoods and Costco on U.S. 93., and is open 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. Monday through Saturday, and 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Sunday.

Harbor Freight Tools specializes in manufacturing tools and sells them at nearly 1,000 retail locations across the nation.

The company states that cutting out the middle man, and manufacturing and selling the tools in house allows them to sell comparable products at less expensive prices.

The company is based in Calabasas, California, just outside of Los Angeles. The first retail store opened in Lexington, Kentucky in 1980.

More new businesses are on the way to the Spring Prairie development, with REI, MOD Pizza, T-Mobile, Panera and Kay Jewelers all expected to open before the year is out.
