School calendar

- Cayuse Prairie students have no school April 16 for teacher training.

- Kindergarten roundup at Deer Park School is scheduled on April 17. Call 406-892-5388 to schedule a appointment.

- Lakeside Elementary is holding a kindergarten roundup from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. April 18-19. Children must be 5 by Sept. 10. Birth certificate and immunization records must be presented at the time of registration. Students will be screened for vision, hearing, speech, motor and cognitive skills. Screening is also available to preschool children ages 3 to 5. Call 406-844-2208 to make an appointment.

- Area high school juniors and their parents are invited to attend a free presentation titled “Top 10 Action Items for Juniors” at 6 p.m. on April 19 at Flathead Valley Community College in the large community room of the Arts and Technology Building. Reach Higher Montana will present on preparing to apply to college, federal financial aid and scholarships.

- Kindergarten registration and screening will be held from 1 to 7 p.m. April 19 at Evergreen Elementary School. Birth certificate, immunization record and proof of residency such as a utility bill are required at the time of registration. Call 406-751-1121 to schedule an appointment.

- The Columbia Falls Academic Endowment annual spring fundraiser is planned for April 19 at Cedar Creek Lodge in Columbia Falls. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. There will be live and silent auctions starting at 7 p.m., entertainment provided by students, finger food and a cash bar. Tickets cost $10 and may be purchased at the door, or by calling 406-270-5210. Proceeds benefit academic enhancement programs in Columbia Falls School District.

- High school students are invited to learn more about Flathead Valley Community College from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 20. The free event will begin with a campus tour followed by a panel discussion with faculty on programs and class expectations in addition presentations on student organizations and activities. Lunch will be provided. Staff will be available from 2-5 p.m. to answer questions regarding admissions. Register online at www.fvcc.edu/experience-fvcc. - There is no school for students in Whitefish School District on April 20 for teacher training.

- The Smith Valley School Parent Teacher Committee will host a “Springo Bingo” fundraiser starting at 5:30 p.m. on April 20 at the school located on 2901 U.S. 2 W., Kalispell.

- School will be in session on April 23 in Whitefish School District. It was previously listed as a snow makeup day on the school calendar. Snow make-up days are now set for June 8, the afternoon of June 7 and the morning of June 9 if needed. The changes are a result of the school closures in September due to cyber threats.

- Smith Valley School’s kindergarten roundup is planned from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 24. Children must be 5 by Sept. 10. Birth certificates and immunization records must be presented at the time of registration. Children will also be screened during the appointment. Make an appointment by calling 406-756-4535.

- Smith Valley School will have an early dismissal on April 25.

- Glacier High School juniors and parents are invited to a free financial aid and college application presentation from 5:30-6:30 p.m. April 26.

- April 26 is the deadline to submit an application and essay for the Junior Police Leadership Academy. The academy will be held July 8-14 in Helena. There is no cost to attend and the academy is open to high school sophomores through seniors. Interested students should contact his or her respective school resource officer or visit http://www.macop.com for more information or to get an application. Students selected to attend will be notified in May.

- There is no school in Olney-Bissell on April 27.

- “Community Rocks!” a family-friendly concert is planned from 3:30-7 p.m. April 29 at the armory. Admission is $5 for children and $10 for adults and includes a spaghetti dinner. The Whitefish Community School a non profit preschool.

- The public is invited to attend a community forum on Deer Park School’s bond issue from 6-8 p.m. on May 3 at the school.

- The Imagine IF Anime Club will meet from 4-5:30 p.m. May 3 at the Kalispell library. Open to grades sixth through 12th. Showing this month is “My Hero Academa.”

- Swan River students have no school on May 11.

- Bigfork Elementary kindergarten registration is May 11. Schedule an appointment by calling 406-837-7412.

- May 15 is the deadline to register for kindergarten in West Valley School. Eligible children must be 5 before Sept. 10. Birth certificate, immunization records and proof of residency must be presented at the time of registration.

- Smith Valley School will have an early dismissal on May 16.

- A kindergarten- through fourth-grade Spring Learning Celebration and Concert will be held from 6:30 to 7:30 p.m. May 17 at Fair-Mont Egan School.

- A teen social is planned from 4-5:30 p.m. May 17 at ImagineIF library in Kalispell. The featured craft will be T-shirt painting and decorating.

- Students at Fair-Mont-Egan School have a 1:30 p.m. early dismissal on May 18.

- An early dismissal is planned in Kalispell Public Schools on May 23 for teacher training.
