Betty J. Reed, 77

Betty Jean Reed passed away April 5, 2018.

She was born to Clarence & Lillian (Brown) Gokel in Alpena, Michigan, on Sept. 16, 1940.

She is survived by her daughter Sandy DeMars and husband Daron of Bigfork; a son, Rob Reed and wife Tonya, of Spirit Lake, Idaho; and a son, Ryan Reed, and wife Jenny, of Kalispell; eight grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren, a brother-in-law, Bill Reed, and family of Lake Havasu, Arizona. Also, nieces, nephews and cousins in California, Montana, Michigan, Georgia and Florida. She has so many important friends and family that loved her, and she them. There are too many to be included here.

She worked at the post office, as a seamstress, and worked at Lake View Care Center for about 25 years as a nurse’s assistant, and then a ward clerk.

She married her husband Phil in 1962 in Michigan and moved to Montana with him in 1963.

Barbecue ribs and Moose’s pizza were some of her favorite foods. She loved movies, romance novels, line dancing, knitting, scrapbooking and spending time with her family.

A celebration of life for Betty, along with her husband Phil, who passed away in 2015, will be held 11 a.m. on Friday, April 20, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home.
