Learn about social-media marketing

The next Thinking Thursday session presented by the Kalispell Chamber of Commerce will focus on “how social media is a blue-collar business BFF.”

The session runs from 8:30 to 10 a.m. April 19 at the Kalispell Chamber office, 15 Depot Park.

Social-media marketing is a powerful, yet confusing tool that often leaves small businesses who don’t have millions of dollars behind them frustrated and overwhelmed. Have you: been unable to crack the code of making it work for you rather than just wasting time? Are you unsure of what and when to post and how to create content? Have you been mystified by the fancy gizmos and gadgets that come with putting your business online? If you have answered yes to any of these, register for the free event by calling the Kalispell Chamber at 758-2800.

Whitefish state-of-the-city address set

The Whitefish Chamber of Commerce “Business Breakfast” on Wednesday, April 25, will feature a state-of-the-city report by Mayor John Muhlfeld and City Manager Adam Hammatt.

The breakfast gathering starts with a buffet meal at 7:45 a.m. at the Whitefish Moose Lodge, with the program starting at 8:15 a.m.

Tickets are $15 per person and an RSVP is required. Call Lisa at 862-3501 or visit the Chamber website, www.whitefishchamber.org and register through the online events calendar.

Learn how to sell your business

There’s still time to sign up for Montana West Economic Development’s 2018 business training series.

Peggy Kragh and Shawn Miller of Murphy Business, the largest business brokerage company in the United States, will present a three-part series that begins Thursday, April 19. The first session will focus on the process of selling and adding value to your business.

The series continues April 26 with building blocks for valuing the business, and concludes May 3 with a session on confidential marketing.

The classes run from noon to 1:30 p.m. at the Montana West conference room, 44 Second Ave. W. in Kalispell. The cost is $25 per class or $60 for all three. RSVP by calling 257-7711 or email dorothy@dobusinessinmontana.com.
