Tenant returns home to find belongings gone

Someone called the Kalispell Police Department to report his home had been broken into while he was away. He said bank records, clothing, a passport and other items were taken. But after police investigated further, it appears the man was evicted from the apartment and the landlord considered the property abandoned. Police will follow up, if necessary.

A man called to report he was the victim of a fraud and wanted them to be arrested. He said he had lost more tha $1,800 and was supposed to meet them shortly at an area business and wanted an officer to meet him there to “bust” them.

A woman called to report her car had been ransacked. She believed it was locked, but there was no sign of forced entry. There was considerable damage, but it was unknown if anything was missing.

Police were called to follow up on his wife’s call that their granddaughter obtained illegal drugs.

Someone called to report her son was drunk and had drug paraphernalia. He was outside and beating on the apartment door. It was unkown if he was high, but he had been drinking. The person wanted the drug paraphernalia removed from the residence.

A person called to report possible child neglect. She claimed a child was not restrained in a safety seat, but when police located the vehicle, all the children appeared to be in proper restraints.

A woman called to report someone stole her daughter’s handicapped parking pass.

Someone called to report two kids inside of a garbage can near an area business. One was about 16 to 20 years of age, wearing a red jersey.

A woman called to report a man for allegedly stalking and threatening her, according to the Whitefish Police Department. She said he called and said he has an AR-15 and a .45-caliber handgun. She said the man is a felon and does drugs. She asked that a deputy come to the Rainbow Bar so she could make a stalking complaint. Police said they would do extra patrols at the location.

Someone called to report a domestic situation between a young couple yelling at each other where a baby was present and crying. The person reported that the woman was screaming at the man that he can’t take it. Police responded and the parties were separated.

Residents from an assisted living center were evacuated after someone smelled smoke and an electrical smell. It turned out to be a burnt ballast. An electrician was called to take care of it.

Someone called with questions about a strange message left on the answering machine. Police answered the questions.

A person called to report the theft of two political signs on two separate days from a residence. Police said they would do extra patrol.
