| August 24, 2018 2:00 AM

With great sadness, Betty Mae (Lorenzen, Huckins) Polledo, 86, passed away on Aug. 18, 2018, under hospice care in Kalispell.

Born and raised in Iowa, some of her greatest memories were the loss of her father, Edward Lorenzen, at the age of 6. She adored him so. She graduated in 1950, and was accepted to work for the FBI in Washington, D.C., by J. Edger Hoover at a salary of $2,450 a year. She married John Huckins in 1952 who was in the Air Force, stationed in Albuquerque New Mexico. After many moves, in 1966 they were stationed to the Lakeside Radar Base and retired in Lakeside.

From this union she is survived by five children, Sharon Manning (Steve), Pam James (Mel), John Huckins (Lisa), Terri Davis (John), and Casey Huckins (Jill); grandchildren, Jacey and Trey Manning, Axel and Erik Huckins, Wendy Huckins Lee, Morgan Davis Buchang, Bronson Davis, and Addie and Hayden Huckins; and great-grandchildren, Janiegh and Bobby Lowry, Dalton and Connor Manning, and Bryson Lee.

Betty worked for the assessors office as a supervisor in Kalispell for 16 years until her retirement in 1991.

She loved to crochet, sew quilts and make bears, garden, bake and dance. She had a never-ending love for children.

Betty started attending the group, Parents Without Partners, where Juan Polledo danced into her life. They were happily married in 1986 until her death. From this union she welcomed with open arms three more children, John Polledo (Dawn), Martha Polledo Harwood (John), Jamie Polledo (Dana) and their children Chase, Brianne, Tanya and Shane, and great-grandchildren Zekaih, Finley Eiden and Emrielle. She is also survived by her sisters Gloria Boeck and Karen Foster, and brothers Francis and Gail Snyder, who all loved her.

At her request there will be no service held in her honor.
