Wrestling Braves edge Big Sky; Glacier falls to Sentinel
MISSOULA — Fin Nadeau’s decision at 132 pounds in the final match of the dual gave Flathead a 31-28 Western AA wrestling victory over Missoula Big Sky/Loyola on Thursday night.
Nadeau beat Trevin Weizlen, 10-6.
Weizlen was a state finalist last year.
The Braves scored points on pins by Tanner Russell (170) and Ross Calhoon (205), picked up 12 points off forfeits by Big Sky at 120 and 285 and a major decision by Cole Eastwood at 103.
“We wrestled pretty flat, but came away with the win,” Flathead coach Jeff Thompson said.
“This team never gave up,”
Flathead, 5-0 in duals, heads for Butte and the Mining City Duals today and Saturday.

Missoula Sentinel 48, Glacier 30
MISSOULA — Missoula Sentinel won all its matches by pin to top Glacier in Western AA action.
Glacier’s scoring was also by pins — Tristan Little (126), Caden Gilmond (170), Colby Martin (205) and Tre Krause (285) — and one forfeit — Dylan Miller (103).
“Tonight we came out and gave a great effort,” Glacier coach Ross Dankers said.
“Another good measure of where we are at and where we are hoping to get to. We had an especially outstanding effort from Caden Gilmond coming from behind wrestling up a weight class and getting the pin. Really excited for him and his growth.”
Glacier is on the mats today and Saturday in Butte for the Mining City Duals.
