FVHS beats Stillwater boys, SCS girls win 40-24

Spencer Burden had 27 points for Flathead Valley Home School as the Crusaders rolled over Stillwater Christian School 59-49 on Friday night at Stillwater.

Bubba Loyda had 14 for FVHS and Jordan Wininger added 12, including 10 in the first half.

Nick Sulbacher paced the Cougars with 14 points and Connor Drish had 9.

Whitefish 49, Libby 47

Lee Walburn drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to defeat Libby in Northwest A boys basketball action at Whitefish High School.

Walburn paced the Bulldogs in scoring with 18, and Dillon Botner added 15 to help keep Whitefish undefeated.

Libby (2-2) had the hot hand in the first half and took a 30-20 lead into halftime.

“We dug ourselves a hole,” Whitefish coach Scott Smith said.

“They were hot in the first half.”

But the Bulldogs (4-0) did a better job after the break defending near the 3-point arc, Scott said, and Jack Schwaiger did an “amazing job” guarding Libby’s Ryggs Johnston in the second half.

“He’s a big reason why we won the game,” Scott said.

Johnston finished with 16 points, while Keith Johnston and Ryan Goodman had 8 apiece for the Loggers.

The Lady Loggers edged the Lady Bulldogs in Northwest A girls basketball on Friday night at Whitefish High School.

Stillwater Christian held Flathead Valley Home School to 7 points at halftime en route to a victory over the Crusaders.

Selah Neumann had 13 points to lead the Cougars and Madison Morken added 12.

Makaila Burlingame scored 8 points for FVHS.
