Glacier's Marin and Ronan's Mays set to meet in CMR Classic semis

GREAT FALLS – Glacier’s Colby Marin and Ronan’s Justin Mays will meet in today’s 205-pound semifinal at the C.M. Russell Holiday Wrestling Classic,

Martin had three pins on Friday to earn his spot in the semifinal. Mays needed overtime to take care of Colstrip’s Beau Peterson before winning by pin in the quarterfinal.

Glacier is in 12th after the first day of action with 66 points. Browning is tied for 13th with 65, Columbia Falls is in 18th with 57, Ronan 20th with 53.5 and Whitefish earned 51.5 points for 23rd.

“I thought today was a good first experience with individual tournaments, we lost a few matches we were up in late in the match, but we are continuing to learn and grow,” Glacier coach Ross Dankers said. “Another good day put together by Colby Martin with three pins on his way to the semis, he is wrestling very savvy, staying in the positions he feels comfortable in. Four guys into Day 2 isn’t too bad with 40-some teams.”
