Big fourth quarter helps C-Falls girls drop Libby

LIBBY — Columbia Falls used a big fourth quarter to break away from Libby for a 49-27 Northwest A conference girls basketball victory on Thursday evening.

Columbia Falls, up 28-19 after three quarters, outscored the Loggers 21-8 in the final eight minutes to win by 22 points.

Hannah Gedlaman had 15 points for Columbia Falls and Ryley Kehr 10.

Jayden Winslow led Libby in scoring with 14 points.

BIGFORK — Bigfork outscored Ronan 18-5 in the opening quarter and 19-4 in the third to romp to an easy victory over Ronan in a nonconference contest.

Anders Epperly topped Bigfork in scoring with 16 points. Beau Santisteven added 13 and Logan Gilliard netted 12.

Anthony Camel had 19 points to pace Ronan.

BROWNING — Browning rattled off 39 points in the first eight minutes of play for a Northwest A conference victory over Whitefish.

The two teams battled on even terms after that.

Justin Burd had 14 points and Nano Stiffarm 12 for Browning.

Lee Walburn and Ryan Kemm led Whitefish in scoring with 26 and 22 points, respectively.

COLUMBIA FALLS — Ryggs Johnston made 7 of 7 free throws in overtime to help Libby slip by Columbia Falls in a Northwest A contest.

Johnston finished with a game-high 27 points.

JJ Davis was next for the Loggers with 17 points.

Libby was 12 of 14 from the charity line in the extra session.

For the game, the Loggers were 19 of 32 free throw shooting.

Columbia Falls went to the line seven times in overtime, making two. The Wildcats were 10 of 25 shooting from the line for the game.

Tucker Salmonsen led Columbia Falls in scoring with 12 points.
