Gloria M. Palicz, 89

Gloria M. Palicz of Fairbanks, Alaska, passed away peacefully at Fairbanks Memorial Hospital on Wednesday, Jan. 10, 2018. She was 89 years young.

She is survived by her children, Jimie Palicz of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and Joy Parker of Fairbanks, Alaska; her grandchildren, Shawn Gooch of Nibley, Utah, Nicolas Palicz of Kalispell, Melissa Jones of Kalispell, Justin Parker of Fairbanks, Janna Hills of Fairbanks, Garrett Parker of Rheinau, Germany, Tonya Nordtome of Kalispell, Tara Long of Epping, North Dakota, and Elliott Palicz of Oklahoma City; and 18 great-grandchildren; and her siblings, Evelyn Onstot of Nevada, Iowa, Lowell Walker of Ackworth, Iowa, Helen Cook of Martinsdale, Iowa, Connie Wood of Norwalk, Iowa, and Judy Vasey of Norwalk.

She was preceded in death by her husband Franklin Palicz, son Jerry Palicz, daughter Jeanette Fincher, granddaughter April Gooch, parents Forest and Ada Walker, and brothers Milton, Elmond and Dwayne Walker.

Gloria was born on March 18, 1928, in McDonald, Kansas, to Forest and Ada Walker. She married Franklin in 1949 and they loved traveling together. She worked as a sales clerk, teacher, bookkeeper, and most predominately a homemaker. She was loved as an older sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and friend to all who knew her.

A celebration of life service will be held on May 19 at Kalispell Church of the Nazarene.
