A man is behind bars after allegedly spitting at police officers while being arrested on charges of felony theft.

According to court reports, Randall Wade Rhodes-Spears, 22, allegedly damaged a TV, door and drywall at a house in Kalispell during a fight with his girlfriend. He then allegedly took the girlfriend’s father’s Jeep without permission and drove to his family’s house, became agitated again, and rammed the Jeep into three parked vehicles.

Rhodes-Spears got aggressive and used profanity toward officers when they responded to the incident, according to court documents. The man reportedly spit directly in an officers face as the officer attempted to arrest him. After being put in the patrol car, Rhodes-Spears allegedly stuck his head through the window between the rear and front and spit in another officer’s face and started kicking the back windows of the patrol car. When a deputy opened a door to tell him to stop, Rhodes-Spears reportedly spit on him as well.

Rhodes-Spears was brought to the Flathead County Detention Center on two felony charges of theft and criminal mischief. He is also being charged with three misdemeanor charges of assault with bodily fluid. Rhodes-Spears will be arraigned for the charges before judge Dan Wilson in Flathead District Court on Feb. 15. If he is found guilty, Rhodes-Spears could face prison time for his felony charges as well as restitution for the damages he caused.
