Jean Adkins Willmore, 81

Jean Adkins Willmore of Elk, Washington, passed away on Jan. 30, 2018.

She was preceded by her first husband Rowland “R.T.” Adkins who passed in 2015, and her second husband, Lester Willmore, of 32 years who passed in November 2017. Jean is survived by her sister, Miriam Parker of Yuma, Arizona, and her children, Vickie Adkins of Portage, Wisconsin, Shawn Smith of Kalispell, and Trevert Adkins of Kalispell, and her stepchildren, David Willmore of Joseph, Oregon, Vicki Harding of Tumwater, Washington, Ann Fassbender of Snettisham, Alask, Curtiss Wilmore of Kalispell, Sharron Backstrom of Lacey, Washington, James Willmore of Kalispell, and Douglas Willmore of Santa Monica, California; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.

Jean was born Aug. 10, 1936, in Rollins, graduated from Flathead High School and married Rowland Thomas Adkins Jr. in 1955.

She kept books for their trucking business in Kalispell and earned her private pilot’s license in 1978. She was active in Loggerettes, Home Demonstration Club and 4-H.

She married Lester Willmore, the love of her life, in 1985. They lived on a small farm in Elk, Washington, where they raised mules and horses, actively participating in the Mule Club. Family was important to her and she loved her friends and the Elk community.

Jean will be remembered for her sense of humor, love for her family, and support of others in their time of need. She was loved deeply and will be missed.
