Leonard J. Fusk, 64

Leonard J. Fusk, 64, of Helena, and formerly of Joplin, died of natural causes after a long illness Thursday, Feb. 1, 2018, at St. Pete’s Health in Helena.

Born March 4, 1953, to Donald and Audrey Fusk of Joplin, he was raised on the family farm north of Joplin, and graduated from Joplin High School in 1971.

He was a farmer/rancher, construction worker and woodworker. Leonard was the recipient of the Liberty County Conservation District Cooperator of the Year in 1997 in recognition of his organic farm.

He enjoyed karaoke, woodworking, and seeing his grandchildren.

Throughout his life, Leonard lived in Joplin, Havre, the Whitefish area and, most recently, Helena.

He was preceded in death by his parents, nephew Tanor Dees, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Leonard is survived by sisters and brothers-in-law, Christine and Steve Sapp, Debbie and Paul Dees, and Ellie and Bill Keeley; aunt, Phyllis Willert; ex-wife, Sarah Qunell; son, Dustin Qunell; daughters, and sons-in-law Devan and Ryan Van Dessel, Cari and Eric Groth, Kayla and Dan Scott, and Mariah and Ryan Hall; 13 grandchildren with one due this month, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Cremation was under the direction of Anderson, Stevenson Wilke Funeral Home & Crematory of Helena.
