C-Falls, Browning girls in Northwest A tourney title game

RONAN — Columbia Falls limited Ronan to five points or less scoring in each of the four quarters while blowing the game open with a 15-point second quarter and a 17-point fourth in a 50-18 semifinal victory at the girls Northwest A conference basketball tournament Friday afternoon at the Ronan Events Center.

Columbia Falls held a 24-10 advantage at the half.

Hannah Gedlaman led a balance Wildkats attack with 14 points. Ryley Kehr was next with 11 and Dani Douglas added 10.

Tianna Ulutoa was Ronan’s top scorer with five points.

The win sends Columbia Falls to the championship game today at 6:30 p.m. versus Browning.

Ronan moves to loser-out play at 9:30 a.m. versus Polson.

RONAN — A strong first half carried Browning to an easy semifinal victory over Libby.

Browning led 25-13 at the half and 37-16 after three quarters.

Ronnal Jordan and Dulci Skunkcap shared scoring honors for Browning with 14 points each.

Jayden Winslow topped Libby with 10 points.

Browning moves to the championship game tonight at 6:30 p.m. versus Columbia Falls.

Libby has a loser-out date with Whitefish at 9:30 a.m.

RONAN — Anthony Camel had a monster game with 37 points to help Ronan knock off top-seed Browning in semifinal action.

Camel had five 3s on the night to go with seven field goals and was 8 of 10 free-throw shooting.

Ronan started strong with a 22 point first quarter and finished with a 25 point fourth.

Tyree Whitcomb was the key offensive weapon for Browning. He tallied 30 points on five 3s, four field goals and 7 of 8 free throw shooting.

Ronan capitalized at the charity stripe, making 21 of 30 shots. Browning was 11 of 16 in free throws.

Ronan advances to the championship game tonight at 8 versus Polson.

Browning slips to loser-out action a™t 11 a.m. versus Whitefish.

RONAN — Polson used a fast start to drop Libby in a semifinal matchup.

Polson jumped out to a 22-10 lead and enjoyed a 31-22 edge at the half.

Both teams scored 28 points in the final half.

Shade Main led a balanced Polson attack with 17 points. Robin Erickson netted 15 and Connor Lanier 12.

Libby’s Ryggs Johnston led all scorers with 25 points. Keith Johnson was next for the Loggers with 13.

Polson will play Ronan in the championship game tonight at 8.

Libby is in loser-out action at 11 a.m. against Columbia Falls.
