Donna Mae (Stertz) Beaver, 94

| February 20, 2018 7:18 PM

Donna Mae (Stertz) Beaver died Feb. 12, 2018, at Kalispell Regional Medical Center.

Donna, the eldest daughter of John and Christine Stertz, was born Aug. 3, 1923, in Sutton, Nebraska. The loving and hardworking Stertz family included two sons and four daughters, Richard, Donna, Jean Haver, Ardell, Ardis Foster and Joan Smith, now all deceased, but who had remained close throughout their long lives. They always managed to have a darn good time with one another.

Donna graduated Bridgeport High School in Nebraska and married Robert Beaver Nov. 15, 1941. They moved to Hanna, Wyoming, until Bob went to Navy radio school at Texas A&M when World War II began. During the war Donna returned to Nebraska and her parents’ home, working as a dental assistant until after the war. Donna and Bob first settled in Wyoming before moving to Kalispell in 1967 where Donna was employed at Montgomery Ward until her retirement.

Donna and Bob had two children: daughter Kaye (Michael) Brabec of Colorado Springs, Colorado, has two children Laura (Jeremy) Koselak, also of Colorado Springs, and David (Jenny Hall) of Ashland, Oregon; and seven grandsons, son Jack (John) Beaver and Val Bronson and children Norman and Jacob Larson and Alyssa (Sam) McCarthy and six grandchildren of Kalispell. Family was certainly Donna’s joy each and every day, every occasion together, with daily care by Jack and Val.

Donna was a good cook, certainly family famous for her special cheesecake and her many delicious Christmas cookies. She found great pleasure with family sitting around her table sharing a meal.

Thanks to all the medical personnel who were so warm, attentive and encouraging to Donna through the years, especially Woodland Clinic. Donna loved you all.

“Donna, wife, mother, grandmother and friend, you made all of our lives so much richer. We miss you so much.”

Services will take place in June.
