Donna Jean Warburton, 80

| January 3, 2018 7:47 PM

Donna Jean Warburton, 80, passed away on Dec. 30, 2017, in Kalispell.

Donna was born on March 2, 1937, in Helena to Walter and Edna (Belgrade) Pocha. Donna attended Helena High School in Helena.

Donna met and married George Warburton on Aug. 15, 1953, in Helena. They were married 64 years.

Donna started working at St. Johns Hospital as a housekeeper. She was then certified as a nurse’s aide, where she discovered her love was for caring for patients. In 1974, the family moved from Elliston, Montana, to the Flathead Valley. Donna continued as a nurse’s aide, moving on to the Physical Therapy Department. She retired from the Cardiac Rehab Department, which was truly an area she loved, helping her patients improve their health through exercise, retiring in 1998. This allowed her to do what she truly loved, which was spending time with her family, reading, baking, golfing and, most of all, caring for her 14 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren; these were truly her happiest days.

Donna is survived by her husband, George Warburton; children, Sheila Chaffin (Tom), Hamilton David Warburton (Cheryl), Jan Ward, Bill Warburton, and Rick Warburton (Pam), all of Kalispell. She is also survived by her brother, Gary Dunn (Judy), of Helena, along with 14 grandchildren, 44 great-grandchildren and 15 great-great-grandchildren.

Donna was preceded in death by daughters, Lori and Theresa Warburton; sisters, Elieen Miniati and Delores Williams; and her parents, Edna Dunn and Walter Pocha.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 6, at Buffalo Hill Funeral Home, with a reception to follow. The burial will follow at 2 p.m. at Glacier Memorial Gardens.
