'Kats snag NWA win over Libby

COLUMBIA FALLS — A trio of high-scoring Wildkats carried Columbia Falls to a 52-41 win over Libby in a Northwest A conference matchup on Friday night at Columbia Falls High School.

Ryley Kehr led the way with an explosive, 20-point performance. Dani Douglas deposited 15 points, while Hannah Gedlaman added 11. Kehr, Douglas and Gedlaman accounted for all but five of Columbia Falls’ points.

Jayden Winslow scored 18 points for Libby, which was unable to overcome a 14-point deficit after three quarters.

POLSON — Louetta Conko Camel scored a game-high 13 points to lead Ronan over Polson in a Northwest A clash.

The Chiefs led 19-6 after one quarter of play and carried a 31-16 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Micalann McCrea chipped in 12 points for Ronan while Tiana Wutoa added 10.

Kaelyn Smith was Polson’s high scorer with seven points.

BIGFORK — Bigfork cruised to a 19-2 lead after the first quarter on its way to a stress-free, 65-25 win over Troy.

Jaime Berg poured in 14 points, and Rakiah Grende added 10 for the Valkyries. Shae Anderson and Abby Ellison scored eight apiece.

Allie Coldwell paced Troy with nine points.

PABLO — Connor Lanier posted a game-high 28 points to help Polson outlast Ronan in a double-overtime thriller at Salish Kootenai College.

The Pirates prevailed in the matchup of Northwest A heavyweights thanks to Lanier’s career night and major contributions from Robin Erickson (16 points) and Shade Main (15 points).

The Chiefs gave Polson all it could handle behind Zeke Misa’s 27 points and another 22 points provided by Anthony Camel.

Polson, held to just 22 points in the first half, scored 17 in the third quarter and 20 in the fourth to overcome a 14-point halftime deficit and force overtime.

BIGFORK — Bigfork led 45-3 halfway through an eventual 74-6 trouncing of Troy.

Chase Chappuis led the Vikings with 14 points, and Logan Gillard added 13. Anders Epperly, Colton Reichenbach and Beau Santistevan all scored eight points.

Bigfork jumped out to a 22-2 lead in the first period and held the visitors scoreless in the third quarter of a contest that was never competitive.

LIBBY — Ryggs Johnston poured in a game-high 23 points to push Libby over Columbia Falls in a Northwest A contest.

Johnston knocked down all 11 of his attempts from the free-throw line and also hit two 3-pointers, both in the second quarter.

Matthew Morrison led Columbia Falls with 11 points.
