Betty Schultz Daley, 91, and Carl A. Daley Jr., 95

Betty Schultz Daley, 91, died May 4, 2016.

Carl A. Daley Jr., 95, passed away on Saturday, Dec. 30, 2017; both were residents of Immanuel Skilled Care Center in Kalispell.

Betty was born on Nov. 6, 1924, to Otto and Elsie Schultz, and raised in Kalispell where she attended public schools. She was one of the first women to work at Hungry Horse Dam and later was a sales clerk in the women’s department of several stores in Kalispell. Betty was an avid gardener, a member of the Eagles Auxiliary, a Sunday school teacher and choir member.

Carl was born in Choteau on Nov. 23, 1922, the son of Carl and Benora Daley. He attended Flathead Valley schools and graduated from Flathead County High School in 1940. Carl served in the U.S. Army from 1943 to 1946. He was a carpenter by trade and worked in Alaska before returning to Montana. He was a member of the United Brotherhood of Carpenters and local saddle and calf roping clubs.

Both Betty and Carl enjoyed attending and participating in rodeo sports.

Carl and Betty were married at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Sept. 23, 1961, where they remained active members.

A son, Michael, preceded them in death in 1986.

They are survived by a brother, nephews and nieces, and many friends.

A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 10, in the Immanuel Skilled Care Center Chapel, with Pastor Larry Stappler officiating. Arrangements are under the care of Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home and Crematory.
