Election filing starts Thursday

Filing for county and state political races starts Thursday, officially kicking off the 2018 election year.

Filing will continue through March 12. The Flathead County Election Department website is a one-stop shop for prospective candidates, offering legislative district maps for state legislative districts,along with declaration of nomination forms and filing fee information.

Filing for special district trustee elections, such as fire and land-use districts, already is underway and continues through Feb. 12.
