Wolfpack Theatre presents modern romantic comedy Almost, Maine
The Wolfpack Theatre Company will present the modern, romantic comedy, “Almost, Maine” at 6:33 p.m. on Jan. 16 and 17 at Glacier High School’s Wolfpack Theatre. Admission is $7 for adults and $5 for children, students and senior citizens. Tickets are available at the GHS main office, Photo Video Plus and at the door.
As the northern lights hover in the star-filled sky above, Almost’s residents find themselves falling in and out of love in unexpected and often comical ways. Knees are bruised. Hearts are broken. But the bruises heal, and the hearts mend—almost—in this delightful midwinter night’s dream.
“’Almost, Maine” offers nine stories that come together into an endearing, romantic comedy about life according to student director, Emma Trunkle.
“They are all stories of love — love being lost, found, and rediscovered,” Trunkle.
These funny, yet powerful conversations of love take place in Almost, Maine, a town that’s so far north, it’s almost in Canada. And it almost doesn’t exist due to the small population. So it’s just … Almost.
“The class selected ‘Almost, Maine’ for the humor, heart and a little stage magic you find in every scene. They wanted a play where everyone could thrive; ‘Almost, Maine’ gave us that,” said Trunkle. “I hope the audience laughs and maybe even cries, but most of all I want them to learn something from each story. I can see a deeper meaning in every story and I hope the audience will find it too.”
“Almost, Maine” is produced by the GHS Acting 4 class. Students are required to select, cast and produce a full-length play in six weeks under the supervision of class instructor, Greg Adkins.
