Libby takes two from Troy

TROY — A fast start and strong finish made up for a lull in between in the Libby girls’ 53-46, non-conference win over Troy on Monday night.

Jayden Winslow scored a game-high 25 points for the Loggers, who raced out to a 15-6 lead after the first quarter and outscored Troy 19-15 in the fourth.

Shannon Reny added 11 points for Libby.

Aurora Becquart paced the Trojans with 15.

TROY — Ryggs Johnston poured in 17 points and Libby held Troy under 40 points in a blowout win.

Keith Johnson chipped in 11 and Nik Jones and Brian Peck each added 10 in a balanced scoring effort for the Loggers, who outscored the Trojans in every quarter.

Libby led 29-22 at halftime and pulled away late with a 14-4 margin in the fourth quarter.

Alex Freund took scoring honors for Troy with nine points, while Trevor Hoagland and Jaymin Stever each scored eight.

Stillwater Christian 39

The Flathead junior varsity pulled away after a competitive first half for a comfortable win over Stillwater Christian.

The Braves took an early lead with a 20-12 advantage in the first quarter, but the Cougars roared back with a 16-9 second quarter to trail by only one at halftime.

That was as close as the game would get, however, as Flathead outscored Stillwater 29-11 in the second half to claim the victory.

Blake Counts led the Braves with 15 points. Andrew Siderius and Dylan Burton each scored 10 points.

Nizk Svlzbacher paced Stillwater with 12 points.
