| January 17, 2018 3:02 PM

Charles Andrew Bott, 66, of Frostproof, Florida, passed away Friday, Jan. 12, 2018, at his home, surrounded by family and loved ones, after a courageous battle with brain cancer.

He was born Aug. 18, 1951.

Andy was a self-made man who served his country with pride. After his discharge from the Air Force, he spent three months exploring America on his Triumph 650 motorcycle. He then proceeded to work in Alaska for a year to put himself through college. Andy then attended San Diego University Law School and graduated with honors.

He joined the Wyndham Co. and quickly became an executive in the legal department. After 20 years of dedication, he retired in 2016. Andy loved camping, hiking, traveling the country and exploring new things. Andy and his wife, Ester, once hiked to the bottom of the Grand Canyon, then turned around and hiked back out in one day. One way Andy loved to unwind was to play his guitar.

Andy is survived by his wife, Ester, of 42 years; daughters, Christina (Luder) Palacios and Amanda Lettman; grandchildren, Ashley, Michael and Braydon Palacios; great-grandson, Elijah Palacios; brothers, Jeffrey (Lynn) Bott and Steven (Rossy) Bott.

Andy was preceded in death by his parents, George and Eileen Bott; brother, Rick Bott; and sisters, Mary Jo Knudsen and Connie Flood.

A memorial service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 18, at the First Presbyterian Church, 101 N. Palm Avenue, Frostproof, FL 33843. A reception will follow the services.
