A woman was transported to the hospital after a two-vehicle collision at the intersection of U.S. 93 and Montana 40 Thursday morning.

Emergency personnel directed traffic as they responded to the scene of the crash in Whitefish shortly before 9 a.m.

The woman was reportedly driving a Rav 4 north on U.S. 93 through the intersection on a yellow traffic light when her front bumper hit the back wheel of GMC utility van attempting to turn left onto eastbound Montana 40, according to Montana Highway Patrol Trooper Brian Thorne.

The van driver was reportedly unaware of the vehicle coming through the intersection and was unable to avoid the collision, according the trooper. The single occupant of the van was not injured. The driver of the Rav 4 was taken to North Valley Hospital with neck and shoulder pain. She was not wearing a seatbelt, the trooper said.
