Trio of Pirates leads Polson past Ronan

RONAN — Shade Main, Connor Lanier and Robin Erickson all scored in double figures to lead a balanced Polson offense in the Pirates’ 62-49 victory over Ronan in a Northwest A conference battle on Friday night.

Main poured in a game-high 16 points. Lanier chipped in 13, and Erickson added 10 to Polson’s cause.

The Pirates led 35-28 at halftime and pulled away with a 17-12 advantage in the fourth quarter.

Anthony Camel paced Ronan with 13 points.

EUREKA — Stillwater Christian overcame scoring only one point in the first quarter to down Eureka.

After falling behind 8-1 after the first period, the Cougars hit their stride on offense and outscored the Lions 43-30 over the final three quarters.

Caleb Cole-Tinkham led Stillwater with 13 points, and Jorgen Lindberg chipped in 11.

Colton Cooper was Eureka’s top scorer with 14.

RONAN — A huge halftime lead proved to be the vast majority of the difference in Ronan’s Northwest A win over Polson.

The Maidens outscored the Pirates 40-24 in the first half, giving themselves a 16-point halftime lead in an eventual 17-point victory.

Micalann McCrea threw in a game-high 26 points for Ronan. Tiana Ulutoa and Regan Clairmont added 10 apiece for the Maidens.

Jaycee Frydelund earned scoring honors for Polson with 15, and Quinn Motichka had 14.

EUREKA — Eureka did not allow more than eight points in a single quarter in a blowout win over Stillwater Christian.

The Lions outscored the Cougars by double digits in all but one quarter. They outscored Stillwater 31-11 in the second half.

Eureka’s Erynn Thier took scoring honors with 13 points, and she also grabbed eight rebounds. Maggie Graves recorded seven steals to boost the Lions on the defensive end.
