Gary Lee Charles, 72

| July 1, 2018 2:00 AM

Gary Lee Charles was born on Dec. 21, 1945, in Waltham, Massachusetts, to Randall and Lillian Charles (both now deceased).

Gary “was ushered into the arms of Jesus” on June 3, 2018; he was surrounded by his loving family at his home in Kalispell, after battling cancer.

Gary is survived by his wife of 42 years, Terry (Hull) Charles, a 1966 Delta, Colorado High School graduate; two sons, Jason, his wife Rachel and grandson Gabriel, and son Micah Charles, all of Kalispell; his mother-in-law, Virginia Hull from Delta; three brothers and one sister.

Gary was a math teacher and coach from 1973 to 2015. He loved teaching, his students and coaching. He retired from Valor Christian High School in Highlands Ranch, Colorado, in 2015. After retirement, Gary and Terry joined their sons in the beautiful Flathead Valley in Kalispell on a little family farm.

Gary will be missed by all, as he was a dedicated follower of Jesus Christ, a faithful husband, a wonderful father to his sons and a great friend to many.

A memorial celebration of the life of Gary Lee Charles will be held at 11 a.m. on July 7 at Canvas Church, 255 Summit Ridge Drive, Kalispell. Out of town guests can join us through the live stream at: CanvasChurch.com/live-watch.

In lieu of flowers, we invite you to make a contribution for a memorial bench to be placed next to Gary’s grandchildren’s sand box that he built during his last days with us. Contributions may be sent to: The Charles Family Memorial Fund, P.O. Box 10548, Kalispell, MT 59904. The Charles family would like to express our sincerest thanks and gratitude for your prayers and serving our family during this time of grief and loss.

Johnson-Gloschat Funeral Home is caring for the family.
