Inmate charged with threatening jail commander
An inmate at the Flathead County Jail is facing a felony charge after he allegedly threatened the jail commander last week.
According to court documents, the jail commander explained to Ronald Kevin Lindsay, 33, that because of his continued combative behavior, he would not be allowed to use the phone inside the jail. Lindsay reportedly became upset at the decision and allegedly threatened the commander and her family repeatedly.
Lindsay was charged with threats in official matters. He faces a maximum term of 10 years in state prison and a maximum fine of $50,000.
Lindsay’s arraignment is scheduled for Wednesday, July 18.
He was jailed in March 2018 for allegedly wielding a baseball bat during an incident where he reportedly threatened his girlfriend and another person.
According to the affidavit of probable cause, a Flathead County Sheriff’s deputy responded to a Lower Valley Road residence March 19. The officer spoke with the girlfriend who said a verbal argument turned physical when Lindsay shoved her to the ground. When the other person arrived at the residence, she said she saw Lindsay screaming at his girlfriend.
When he told the other woman to leave, she refused and he then got a baseball bat and hit a table near them while telling them to leave or they were “going to get it.”
Officers then arrested Lindsay inside the residence where they retrieved a baseball bat.
In that case, Lindsay is facing two felony counts of assault with a weapon and a misdemeanor count of partner or family member assault.
Another court document filed June 20 indicated Lindsay had posted bond May 24 in the March 19 case, but had violated certain conditions. The Sheriff’s Office arrested Lindsay June 18.
