Road racers enrage neighbor

A person called the Columbia Falls Police Department to report multiple drivers running their cars and up and down the road all day beginning at 4 or 5 a.m. They also “revved” their engines and the person believed this was done for harassment.

A grandmother reported that her 5-year-old granddaughter locked herself in a bedroom. The woman couldn’t get the door open and the little girl wasn’t answering. She was concerned because there were medications in a drawer in the room. Evenutally, the child was found sleeping in the bedroom and everything was OK.

A couple had a dispute while they walked down 9th Street.

A caller wanted to advise police that a Cub Scout pack would be doing an honor guard flag-raising ceremony at the church on Talbot Road. They were going to use blank rounds in the rifles and the person wanted to let police know because of others potentially calling to report gun shots.

A caller was concerned about a vehicle that was parked near his residence. He said there had been dogs stolen from the neighborhood and he had some nice dogs. When the person tried to speak to the man in the vehicle, he drove away.

A man called the Whitefish Police Department asking for extra patrols on Dakota Avenue because of speeders in the area. He also said there weren’t speed limit signs posted, but an officer determined signs were present. The roadway was added to the extra patrol list.

A person reported a neighbor had a hoarding issue and believed there was a child living in the home.

A woman called the Flathead County Sheriff’s Department because she was breaking up with her boyfriend and he was being unreasonable while she tried to collect her things.

A caller reported an ex-employee harassed, then assaulted him and said he had video to prove it.

A person reported he couldn’t drive to his house because it was blocked with traffic cones by neighbors who wanted them there for safety purposes while children watched fireworks.

A caller reported people lighting fireworks and drinking on Lodgepole Road in Whitefish and didn’t think it was safe.

A woman called to ask for an officer to respond because there was a dog underneath a car. She wasn’t sure if she hit or if it was scared of the fireworks. She then decided she was going to call a friend to help her get the dog out.
