US 93 South project to cause delays

The Montana Department of Transportation is alerting the traveling public of upcoming pavement preservation work on U.S. 93 South extending from north of Polson to West Shore State Park. Starting on Monday, July 9, all travelers should plan for delays of up to 30 minutes when traveling between milepost 67 at Jette north to milepost 93, outside of Rollins.

Pavement improvements include micro-surfacing and crack sealing and is scheduled to be completed in two weeks. Following micro-surfacing and crack sealing, a chip seal will take place in the work zone spanning from Polson to Big Arm. Chip seal work from is planned to begin the week of July 20 and end the week of Aug. 6, weather permitting. Travelers are urged to use caution when navigating the work zone due to the winding roadway and narrow shoulders on this section of U.S. 93.

There are a number of blind corners in the work zone between Jette and Rollins. All are strongly encouraged to slow their speeds and be courteous of other drivers and crews in the work zone.

To keep traffic safely flowing, flaggers will direct traffic and pilot cars will usher vehicles through the work zone.

If traveling between from Kalispell to Polson, Montana 35 on the east side of Flathead Lake may be used as an alternate route.
