Loggers A sweep Lakers A in baseball doubleheader

A cleaner performance in the field, just one error on the day, solid pitching and timely hits carried the Libby Loggers A to a doubleheader sweep of the Kalispell Lakers A on Thursday evening in American Legion baseball play.

Libby used a five-run sixth inning to pull away for a 6-4 win in the opener.

A quick start had Libby on top 6-0 after two inning and the Loggers held on for an 8-5 win in Game 2.

In the opener, Shayne Walker, 2 for 4, homered for the Loggers. Garrett Gollahon also had two hits. Quade Anderson and Tim Carvey held Glacier to six hits. Carvey, who pitched the final two innings, earned the win.

Anderson had five strike outs and walked three batters in five innings of work.

Walker, 5 1/3 innings, and Jeff Offenbecher, 1 2/3, shared mound duties in the second game, holding the Lakers to five hits.
