Joseph “Joe” Berosik, Jr., 78

| July 15, 2018 2:00 AM

Joseph “Joe” Berosik, Jr. peacefully “entered into the eternal embrace of his Lord and Savior” on the evening of July 8, 2018 at his home overlooking “his” Columbia Mountain Range.

On May 29, 1940 in Noonan, North Dakota, Joseph and Ella Berosik welcomed Joe into this world. They would arrive in Kalispell in December of ’52. Being a young farm hand (and the best around if you asked him) would lead to a firm handshake and a glorious key to a ’49 Chevy sedan, his very first car. His love for adventure and passion for trucks was passed down from his father Joe Berosik, Sr.

In November of 1958 Joe would marry Sharon Swanton and they would be blessed with 3 children. It was around that same time Berosik Trucking was established. Joe was a very ambitious young man and very proud of what he had created. Numerous trucks, every load imaginable hauled, and hundreds of thousands of miles later he would meet Karen Calobeer. They would exchange vows on August 19, 2000, and together would author a never-ending love story. Joe would eventually trade his windshield view for an office chair within the dispatch company he and Karen founded together. This would enable Joe to get involved with his other true passion: people!

Joe rarely missed an opportunity for coffee at Cislos or visiting with his countless friends which were always considered like family. His grandchildren and great-grandchildren also joyfully consumed Joe’s time. Joe’s heart had a direct link to his smile which always rested under his tipped hat. His infectious smile paralleled his contagious nature and attracted people of all ages. And he welcomed them all!

Joe was a selfless man, a kind man, and a true Man among men. The investment you made in Joe could never match the investment he made in you. If love were enough, Joe would still be here with us.

Joe is survived by his wife Karen of Kalispell; his sister Marlene (Roger) Rusch of Federal Way, Wash.; his brother Jerold (Sally) Berosik of Kalispell; his daughter Becky (Veldon) Reeves of Mesa, Ariz.; his daughter Susan (Dave) Williams of Kalispell; and his son John (Kim) Berosik of Kalispell. He is also survived by his six grandchildren: Dustin, Collin, Josh, Emily, Brittney and Tana. Together they blessed Joe’s life with nine great-grandchildren. Joe is also survived by Karen’s five children: Kim, Dan, Kristal, Kay and Kaila.

Please come and help Joe’s family honor his life Saturday, July 21 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Stillwater Free Lutheran Church in the tent at 1401 Church Drive, just south and west of the Majestic Valley Arena.
