Lakers AA, Royals AA split; Twins A sweep Red Sox A

BILLINGS — The Kalispell Lakers AA and Billings Royals AA split an American Legion baseball doubleheader on Thursday at Dehler Park.

The Royals (40-12 overall, 13-6 league) won the opener 3-2 in nine innings.

The Lakers (34-14, 13-7) took the second game by the same score in eight innings.

Both games were scheduled for seven innings.

The Lakers close out regular-season play with a home doubleheader versus the Butte Miners AA on Saturday at Griffin Field. The first game is 2 p.m.

WHITEFISH — Coby Clark-Dickenson and Nathan Hadar were stellar on the mound, leading the Twins to a sweep of the Red Sox at Memorial Field on Thursday.

Clark-Dickenson went the distance in the opener. He gave up three singles, fanned five batters and walked three.

Hader checked the Red Sox on two singles, struck out nine nine and walked one batter in a complete game performance.

The Twins had seven hits in the first game. Caleb Meehan doubled and Terek Bistodeau, 2 for 2, tripled and drove in two runs.

Clark-Dickenson had the other RBI.

The Twins pulled away in the nightcap thanks to an eight-run sixth inning.

Jack Schwaiger, 3 for 4, drove in one run.

Bistodeau had three RBIs.

Schwaiger doubled and Bistodeau tripled.

The Glacier Twins play a single game tonight at the Kalispell Lakers A. The first pitch is 7 p.m.

CRANBROOK, British Columbia — Hits and runs were in short supply as the Libby Loggers A dropped a doubleheader to Cranbrook A on Wednesday.

Libby had just five hits on the day.

Cranbrook scored in every inning in both games with a 13-run fourth the big one in the second game.

Libby concludes regular-season play tonight with a home doubleheader versus the Missoula Mavs A. The first game starts at 5:05 p.m.
